“This is what we’ve been practicing for:

the situations where the practice doesn’t come easily.

When the winds of change reach hurricane force,

our inner refuge of mindfulness, concentration, and discernment

is the only thing that will keep us from getting blown away.”

-Thanissaro Bhikkhu

Class Overview:
During this extraordinary period in our lives, deepening our mindfulness practice as well as developing resilience and self-compassion, has never held such an essential place in our everyday lives.  This is especially important, since in turn, we nourish those we love and work with through our own regular, heartfelt practice and presence. We’ll also examine and deeply reflect on how our lives are intersecting with all the issues arising within an evolving Covid-mediated reality.  We’ll use our regular group mindfulness practice for warmly supporting one another through mindful listening, inquiry and dialogue. In this way, as part of our large on-going practice community, you’ll be able to learn mindfulness in an active, experiential, and relational way.

This on-going class – now in it’s 25th consecutive year - provides down-to-earth, common sense-oriented, yet inspiring instruction in Mindfulness. The class draws on innovations in Mind-Body Medicine, including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), brain research as well as deep traditional Eastern & Western Contemplative practices, traditions, and metaphors that can nourish the experience of being calmer, alive, present, well and more in touch with ourselves and those around us.  This class is not meant to be therapy, or a substitute for psychotherapy. This mindfulness course grows out of one of the original resources for mindfulness in Los Angeles, since 1996.  Jerome has own mindfulness meditation practice since 1987.

Every class includes a lesson, discussion, and an experiential practice.  And, eventually, down the road, I look forward to us all reconnecting in person and on mindful retreat, and integrating our shared work together.  Pre-Registration is Required to Enter Class.  (No CE Credits for this class.)
