ABOUT THE CLASS:
If you've ever wanted to learn mindfulness meditation in a safe environment or would like more peace, relaxation and well-being as part of your everyday experience, this refreshing & life-affirming class is for you.
It provides down-to-earth yet inspiring instruction in Mindfulness Meditation and helps you find practical ways to infuse more peace and satisfaction in everyday life. The class draws on innovations in Mind-Body Medicine, including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) as well as traditional Eastern & Western Contemplative practices and metaphors that can deepen the experience of being alive, present and well. This meditation class, as well as our large grass-roots mindfulness community of over 3,000 people, has grown out of one of the original weekly resources for mindfulness retreats, classes and workshops in Los Angeles, since 1996. Jerome began his own mindfulness meditation practice since 1987.
Every class includes a lesson and an experiential practice. On-going depth lessons include: Increasing well-being; Bringing deeper presence and awareness to relationships and communication; Sustaining meaning and creativity at work and at home. Creating mindful awareness in community; Finding ways to bring mindfulness into everyday life; Stress Management. Experiential practices include: Sitting Meditation, Body-Scan, Sensory work, Gentle Stretching, Mindful Dialoguing and many more unique meditative practices!
You'll receive weekly instruction, warm support and an on-going intimate practice community, including opportunities for nourishing Mindfulness Retreats throughout the year to deepen your progress. You'll be given support to sustain your practice in class and will learn ways to bring mindfulness into your everyday life. Pre-Registration is Required to Enter Class. (No CEUs for this class.)
Our central Studio City location provides convenient access and a center for Mindfulness, Mindfulness Meditation, Contemplative Living and Insight in LA, and in the San Fernando Valley, from Woodland Hills to Tarzana and Encino to Sherman Oaks. Also provides convenient access to Mindfulness Meditation to the Burbank / Glendale area - helping create a more Mindful Valley.
FORMAT: Although this Mindfulness Class meets weekly by Zoom, please note that it is an On-going Mindfulness class requiring a minimum commitment of at least three to six months from new members. This Class cultivates the deep benefits of relational mindfulness that are available only through practicing regularly with a mindful community. This is Not a drop-by, nor pay-only-when-you-attend class. The Thursday night and Friday Classes are Not interchangeable. Each Class (either Thursday nights at 8:00PM PST, or, Fridays at 11:00AM PST) often both have a Waiting List. For new members, a class visit and an interview is also required before getting on the Waiting List.
Class member's payment is due during week #1 of a "Cycle." A "cycle" is simply 4-consecutive classes so that members can keep track of when payment is due (every "Week 1"). The class does not start over every four weeks. The Thursday and Friday classes are not interchangeable and Missed classes are not transferable to other classes. in Studio City.
